A bit to talk about...

So there has been a bit going on in the world of Tony.

THE WRITER: The biggest news is the little film that is totally becoming a thing, The Writer. My role as writer and… eh-hem… actor (I’m still getting used to calling my self that), is old news, and my new role, along with my most superlative co-producer and director, Margaret MacDonald, is finding the festivals to which it belongs.

While I sit here and pore over the plethora of candidates world wide ( not that it’s difficult graft), sound design, effects, and our splendid new composer are bloody hard at work and I, for one, can only marvel at their skill.

As I said, totally becoming a thing.

Oh… this is poster. Margaret reckons I should insure my eyebrows. Don’t know what she means.

TONY THE ACTOR: in other news, it seems acting might actually be a plausible path for this old man. For those that didn’t know, I’ve been teaching English as a second language for a while now with acting being a fun sideline. Now that the borders are closed thanks to the ghastly COVID 19, there are no students. Makes it difficult to teach. There will be those of you saying, “but you could teach online”. True. Don’t think we haven’t thunk of it. We tried. Didn’t work out. I feel for everyone in the industry.

So now… well… thanks to my excellent manager, Wayne of Middleman Agency, I have had auditions galore, including for American TV (seems I have a passable accent even if I do sound like I should be wearing a Stetson and rattling my spurs (in my opinion)), and I’ve landed a couple of commercials all since the end of Jobkeeper. Along with extras work, it seems I’m hardly off set. Who would think an old, hairy, ginger, beardie would be in such demand.

May the good times roll for all the wonderful folk I’ve been hanging with lately in a similar situation. Hopefully, you know who you are. Gods know we’ve spent enough time sitting around the extras tent drinking horrid coffee and discussing wise words.
